● The President, Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, accepted the resignation of Javier Lozano Alarcón and appointed former Federal Attorney Labor Defense.



The lawyer Rosalinda Vélez Juárez assumed this Wednesday as Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare, replacing Javier Lozano Alarcón who submitted his resignation has been doing from day one of this administration.


At the official residence Los Pinos, President Felipe Calderon took the protest to the new holder of the STPS who instructed:

"Greater efforts to strengthen and streamline the various programs offered by that agency to assist the Mexicans in search of employment. That should be your priority, generate employment conditions and facilitate the engagement between employers and workers. I mean, for example, and in particular to the job fairs, job portal www.empleo.gob.mx to the service provided by more than 160 offices of the National Employment Service throughout the Republic. "


"Just as I ask you to give renewed impetus to the training courses and scholarships offered by the Federal Government to improve the skills of job seekers and can finally find."


"You should strive at all times, the balance between the factors of production and to promote increased productivity at work for the benefit of the nation and especially of the workers."

"It should also monitor adherence to the measures of industrial hygiene and safety and, of course, promote labor reform that would allow Mexicans to have more and better jobs, reform is vital, and I insist, we can not begrudge to Mexico development, or the Mexicans the possibility of new jobs. "

The President thanked Javier Lozano Alarcón their dedication and commitment over the five years he spent as head of the agency and wished him success on the road now being undertaken.

In his message, Secretary Juarez Velez said he felt very honored by the invitation of President Calderón to join his Cabinet and showing their appreciation and admiration, while endorsed for unswerving loyalty to him and the nation.

To the Chief Executive, Velez Juarez pledged to "put the best of my ability in meeting the objectives in charge of this dependency."

She said that as Attorney Defense Federal Labour directly met the needs of workers, so she knows that society demands more employment opportunities, better paid and within the formality.
